AUTHOR MAKES VISIT TO ABINGDON

Howard Owen, author of the critically acclaimed novel ``Littlejohn'' and the recently published ``Fat Lightning,'' will visit Main Street Books from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday to sign his novels.

A New York Times reviewer called ``Littlejohn'' ``enchanting a warm and generous novel, a heartfelt celebration of the human spirit,'' while the Washington Post said it was ``beautifully written'' with ``a character as fully rounded in his quirks and imperfections, his quiet determination and bravery, as any in recent fiction.''
