FORUM ON HEALING SEPT. 11

Oncologist Dr. William A. Fintel and religion professor Gerald McDermott conduct a forum "PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL HEALING" Sept. 11, 3-5 p.m., at Northside Presbyterian Church, Progress and Watson streets, Blacksburg. The pair wrote the book "A Medical and Spiritual Guide to Living with Cancer: A Complete Handbook for Patients and their Families."

Fintel, who's affiliated with hospitals in Roanoke, Lexington and Duke University, also is medical director of Good Samaritan hospice. McDermott teaches at Roanoke College.

Glenwood United Methodist Church, Barren Springs, serves a country breakfast today, 7-11 a.m. Take Exit 89-A off Interstate 81 and travel 61/2 miles south on Virginia 100.

St. Jude Catholic Church, 1740 Tyler Road, just outside Radford city limits, offers inquiry sessions each Tuesday at 7 p.m. for anyone interested in becoming a Roman Catholic. The church is one-half mile from Rock Road or two miles from Exit 109 off I-81. 639-5341.
