Larnell Lewis scored the first of his three touchdowns on a 1-yard run with 4 minutes, 31 seconds left in the opening quarter.
Lewis had a hand in the Bobcats' second touchdown 2:04 later, throwing a 35-yard scoring pass to Tremond Hale on an option play.
Radford built a 20-point halftime lead when Lewis scored on a 2-yard run with 1:12 to go in the second quarter.
The only scoring in the third quarter came on a 19-yard pass from Bobcats quarterback Foster Ridpath to wideout Eddie Waldron and Ridpath's two-point conversion run.
Lewis sealed the victory and capped a 106-yard rushing effort when he crashed into the end zone from 2 yards with 10:26 to go in the game.
The Fighting Blues, opening Bob Williams' final season as head coach, averted a shutout when D.J. Douglas scored on a 20-yard run and added a two-point conversion run with 8:21 to play in the game.
Marlon Wesley added 103 yards on 10 carries for Radford. Douglas finished with a team-high 65 yards on 13 carries for Parry McCluer.

NEW CASTLE - The Chargers kept their feet on the ground and ran over the Rockets in the Pioneer District opener for both teams.
Bath County scored on drives of 70, 70 and 65 yards, getting rushing touchdowns from Jamie Carroll, Matt Williams and Billy Thomas.
All of the Chargers' 307 yards came on the ground.
For Craig County, Chris Blankenship caught six passes for 87 yards.

TAZEWELL - Tim Akers scored on a 71-yard punt return with 7:12 left, giving the Bulldogs a come-from-behind victory over the Blue Demons in a non-district game.
Christiansburg led 16-10 at the time, but the offense, which accounted for 10 points in the first quarter, had stalled. Chris Epperly kicked a 30-yard field goal and Andra Beasley scored on a 1-yard run.

FLOYD - Jamie Warren had 18 carrires for 134 yards and a touchdown to lead the Buffaloes to a non-district victory in the opener for both teams.
Peter Bucklin added scoring runs of 19 and 17 yards as Floyd County stuck primarily to its ground game. Warren added a 4-yard touchdown run and Jason Pratt hauled in a 48-yard scoring pass from Dwayne Hale to complete the scoring for the Buffaloes.
James River mounted a fourth-quarter rally to cut its deficit to three points. The Knights scored with 1:56 to play, but Floyd County recovered the ensuing onside kick and ran out the clock.
Shahan Burrell had a 5-yard scoring run and threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Tim Leflore on a halfback option. Mark Whiting added a 39-yard touchdown run for James River.
Patrick County 28
Carroll County 6
STUART - Senior fullback Andy Stanley rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns as the Cougars pasted the Cavaliers in a non-district opener.
Stanley scored on runs of 1, 28 and 2 yards. Shawn Stanley also scored a touchdown, returning a punt return 72 yards in the third quarter as Patrick County went up 14-6.
Senior back Barry Stocker provided Carroll County's only score on a 4-yard run in the second quarter.

PETERSTOWN , W.Va. - Jerome Jackson hauled down a 29-yard scoring pass with five seconds left to give James Monroe a victory over the Green Wave in the non-district opener for both teams.
Jeff Pruett gave Narrows the lead initially when he passed 12 yards to Brandon Hollie for a touchdown that broke a scoreless tie early in the fourth quarter.
Bland 14

GALAX - Monty Matthews caught all three passes the Rockets completed - two for touchdowns - as Bland County edged the Maroon Tide in the Mountain Empire District opener for both teams.
Quarterback David Lambert connected with Matthews for scores covering 15 and 75 yards. The first touchdown pass and Matthews' conversion kick put Bland up 7-0 with 4:36 left in the first quarter; the second Matthews touchdown and kick made it 14-0 with 11:48 to go in the second quarter.
For Galax, Randy Ashworth ran 24 times for 98 yards.
Pocahontas 13

POCAHONTAS - Senior tailback Aaron Groseclose rushed for two touchdowns as the Indians cruised past the Eagles in a non-district opener.
Groseclose finished with 146 yards on 21 carries.
Auburn's offense was unable to move inside the Pocahontas 40-yard line and gained just 68 yards to the Indians' 257.
Barry Bonds led Auburn with 20 yards rushing.
