Pulaski Town Council accepted her resignation ``with regret'' Tuesday.
``I've enjoyed working with the town," said Bolen, who started working with payroll and worked her way up to finance director. She had been with the town about 12 years.
She recently completed a master's degree program, and is gearing up to take the certified public accountant examination - ``sort of spreading my wings,'' she said Wednesday. She will need time away from work to prepare for the exam, she said, and then to seek new job opportunities.
Council named her assistant, Anita Taylor, as acting director until a permanent appointment can be made. Town Manager Tom Combiths was authorized to advertise for applicants for the position.
