LET'S HEAR IT FOR ...

Hecht's, for their patience in providing dozens of shoes over a two-week period for models to wear with clothes that came from stores that don't carry shoes. (By the way, that thanks comes sincerely from those stores as well.)

Hollins College, for letting us borrow their campus (and a locker room) for the bulk of the shoot.

Daniel Yon, 12, and Bradley Yon, 10, who stood in for some photos at Hollins, where their mother works in financial aid. Alas, Daniel and Bradley wound up on the cutting room floor, but if it hadn't been for Daniel, we never would have gotten back into the locker room after security locked the gym. Daniel tracked the guard down and got him to let us in.

The Childress family, for letting us use their sensational home and garden and every bedroom in the house for the models to change in.

Local photographer Greg Vaughn, for lending us his studio as a dressing room for the eveningwear shots.

Thanks finally to the models for pitching in to help tape the bottoms of the shoes and often working until the wee hours of the morning without a complaint.
