DUMP TRUCK HITS, KILLS CARROLL COUNTY BOY

Troy Steven Billings, of Fancy Gap, was riding his bicycle on Va. 700 at about 12:45 p.m., according to state police. Billings ran through a stop sign at the intersection with Va. 775 and was hit by a passing dump truck, they said.

Billings was taken to Twin County Community Hospital in Galax, where he died less than two hours later.
