Because of the tremendous response from the public to the appearance of Thomas the Tank Engine in his own show, ``Shining Time Station-Live!'' at the Virginia Museum of Transportation on Sept. 17, two additional shows have been added on Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Tickets are on sale for the Sunday show only at the museum today through Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday noon-4 p.m. The Saturday performances are sold out. Mail orders are being accepted with enclosed self-addressed stamped envelope. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children. 342-5670.
ArtVenture closed
ArtVenture, the children's art center at the Art Museum of Western Virginia, is closed this month.
ArtVenture will reopen Oct. 1 and will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Play auditions
Virginia Western Theatre will hold auditions for the college's fall production of ``The Threepenny Opera'' on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. in Virginia Western Community College's Whitman Auditorium (ground level of the Business Science Building).
Parts are available for men and women of all ages and singers, musicians and technicians are also needed.

'Artemis' submissions
The editors of ``Artemis XVIII'' are now accepting submissions of poetry and fiction for the April 1995 edition of this annual journal of literature and visual arts.
