PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR GETS 6 MONTHS

The director of a Roanoke County preschool will serve six months in jail for taking indecent liberties with a girl in his care.

Roanoke County Circuit Judge G.O. Clemens sentenced Peter L. Williams, 66, to three years in jail, suspended after serving six months. Williams cannot have any unsupervised contact with minors or operate a day-care center.

Williams surrendered his operator's license to the Hollins Park Preschool after he was arrested March 31.

In July, Williams pleaded no contest to coaxing a 4-year-old girl to fondle him. At that time, he entered into a plea agreement that stipulated Williams would serve no more than 12 months in jail.
