Last year's walk raised more than $14,000 for the relief of hunger.

ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER is the theme of a series of Sunday night classes in progress through Oct. 23 at West Salem Baptist Church, 500 Turner Road in Salem. "A Different Way of Dealing with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - Christian Parenting," is in session from 6 to 7:30. The series, which costs $5, is led by Debra Maxey. EMMA JEAN WOODARD of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren has become interim pastor of Troutville Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Peter Leddy, the former pastor, has entered administrative church work.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE, a program of education and fellowship for all ages, begins next week at St. John Lutheran Church in the Cave Spring area. For reservations for the 5:15 meal, call 774-0712 by Sunday.

ST. MARK'S LUTHERAN CHURCH will begin a new class for adults on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. "The Divine Drama" will be taught by the Rev. John Hawn, the new pastor, and will last for 15 weeks. The visual-verbal presentation of teachings of the Christian faith will require some preparation at home.
CAROLYN VICTORINE has resigned after a year as organist at Virginia Heights Baptist Church.
LONG-TERM CARE FOR THE ELDERLY will be the topic of a workshop Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at the City Rescue Mission. A free lunch is included for the program, which is sponsored by a private financial service. Call 343-7227 for reservations.
JERUSALEM BAPTIST CHURCH, 1014 Norfolk Ave. S.W., will hear Katherine Pullens, a mission worker and retired educator, for its Women's Day observance Sunday . "Taking the African-American Woman Into the 21st Century" will be her theme for the 11 a.m. service.
Pullens taught for many years at the former Lucy Addison High School.
