SEATTLE - A young couple running late for an abortion appointment say they got more than a speeding ticket when they were pulled over by a state trooper.
The couple say the trooper tried to talk them out of an abortion for about 90 minutes - offering to slash the cost of the ticket as an incentive - then made them follow him to a church camp, where they were subjected to more anti-abortion lectures before leaving.
After being stopped, the 18-year-old woman went through with the abortion.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Evangelist Tony Alamo was sentenced Friday to a maximum six years in prison and fined $210,000 for income tax evasion.
Alamo was convicted in June of understating his income in 1985 and failing to file tax returns from 1986 through 1988.
He formed a ministry for drug abusers and the homeless more than 20 years ago. It grew into a multimillion-dollar enterprise.
