BOONES MILL HOSTS EUROPEAN TRAVELERS

Today's 17th annual Boones Mill Apple Festival is special for the event's creator and his wife, Homer and Frances Murray.

The Murrays went on a 24-day tour of Europe in 1972 with 11 other couples from across the United States. Traveling in Volkswagen buses, the group made its way across six countries, starting in Spain. Their adventures bonded the group for the rest of their lives.
