With the victory, the Celtics continued their best start in 18 years.
Roanoke Catholic's defense held the Colonels to 66 yards total offense, only 9 yards rushing. The Celtics sacked Massanutten quarterback Morris Graham four times.
Sophomore running back P.J. Moyer rushed for 101 yards and scored a first-quarter touchdown for Catholic. The Celtics went ahead 12-0 when defensive back Demond Lark scooped up a fumbled snap on a Massanutten punt at the Colonels' 1-yard line and dived into the end zone late in the first quarter.
With 11 minutes, 23 seconds left in the half, Tony Joyce hit P.L. Bratton with a 20-yard scoring pass, the Celtics' only completion of the day. Moyer rushed for the two-point conversion to finish the scoring.
Kendall Selfe led the Catholic defense with 12 tackles and Cameron Blount had 10.
