The Deacons got on the board first when Greg Harron headed in a pass from Ihor Dotsenko with 4 minutes, 38 seconds remaining in the first half. Virginia (5-1, 2-0) responded less than a minute later with an unassisted goal from Nate Friends from the left corner of the box. Wake Forest (5-1, 0-1) took a 2-1 lead when Ryan Scott knocked in a deflected shot at the 12:12 mark.
The Cavaliers kept the Deacons scoreless over the final 75 minutes. Mike Fisher tied the score early in the second half and Billy Walsh converted the winner at the 56:52 mark on a header off Damian Silvera's corner kick.

In Lynchburg, Andy Smith scored two goals in the second half to lead Roanoke College to a 5-0 victory over Lynchburg in Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's soccer. Rick Keeley made 10 saves to earn the shutout for the Maroons (4-3 overall, 2-0 in the ODAC). Lynchburg is 3-4, 0-2.
In Annapolis, Md., Buffalo scored the last three goals to beat VMI 4-1 in men's soccer. Eddie Hidalgo had the goal for the Keydets, tying the score five minutes into the second half.
In Davidson, N.C., Nicole Menke scored with a little less than four minutes to play as Radford snapped a four-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over St.Louis in field hockey. The Highlanders (2-4) face top-ranked North Carolina on Wednesday. St.Louis is 0-3.
Hollins won its Hollins College Classic women's soccer tournament with a 3-0 victory over Averett. Freshmen Beth Coughlin, Bryn Hess and Louise Christovich scored the goals for Hollins (2-2). Kristel LePow was in goal for the shutout. Averett is 1-5.
