The recycling drop centers are located at Wade's Supermarket in Dublin, Kroger in Pulaski and Fairlawn, and on 17th Street in Radford.
Each center has bins for green, brown and clear glass. (No drinking glasses or vases should be left.) Caps, lids and plastic or metal neck rings should be removed and the containers should be rinsed.
The centers have bins for two kinds of plastics, designated as HDPE No. 2 (milk and water jugs) and PET No. 1. These identifying numbers are usually found on the bottoms of plastic items. Those with higher numbers should not be dropped into recycling bins. Again, neck rings and caps should be removed.
Steel, bimetal and aluminum cans should be rinsed and paper labels should be pulled off. Newspapers and their inserts can also be left at the centers.
When items are not separated correctly and other instructions are not followed, a load of items which would otherwise be recycled ends up being buried in the landfill.
