NAMES ON CAMPUS

MARSHALL SHULER, a junior at the University of Virginia, received a scholarship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Undergraduate Research Program in biomedical science. The scholarship provided for a summer research program in the neuroscience department.

Shuler is the son of Jim and Margaret Shuler of Blacksburg.

MICHAEL MEI-HWA WANG graduated from Johns Hopkins University with an M.D. and a Ph. D. He is serving his residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.

Michael is the son of June and Joseph Wang of Blacksburg.

JEFFERY DOUGLAS, director of public information for the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, received accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America. Douglas also operates Douglas Communications, a public relations and marketing communications counseling firm that primarily serves national veterinary medical organizations.

JANET WIMMER of Pilot received a master's degree in clothing and textiles from Virginia Tech. She is a laboratory specialist in Virginia Tech's clothing and textiles department.

PATRICIA LIGHT of Pembroke graduated from the University of Mississippi with a master of arts degree at the end of summer term.

ANGELA PRICE GUNTHER of Blacksburg received a master's degree in community health education from Virginia Tech. She will work for the New River Health District as the coordinator of the breast and cervical cancer program.

Gunther is the daughter of F. Elliston and Peggy Price.

MICHAEL ROSENZWEIG of Blacksburg received a Ph.D. in biology from Virginia Tech. He will work for the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona.

ANNA TEMPLE FOSTER of Roanoke, a former Blacksburg High School student, has been selected as one of 26 recipients of a National Society of Public accountants scholarship.

She is a student at the Roanoke Valley Campus of the National Business College.
