Fincastle Festival set for this weekend
The 26th annual Fincastle Festival will be held in downtown Fincastle Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
The festival features crafts, a children's fair, a book fair, music, food, and more.

Environmental nominations needed
The Clean Valley Council is now accepting nominations for its awards recognizing excellence in efforts to preserve, protect and enhance the environmental quality of the Roanoke Valley.
Educational institutions, clean-up and recycling groups and government entities are all eligible.
All nominations should be postmarked by Oct. 3 and mailed to: Awards, Clean Valley Council, P.O. Box 523, Roanoke, 24003-0523.
Nominations must include the name of the individual or organization being nominated, the address, telephone number, contact person, award category and the name of the nominator.
The project should be described in 250 words or less telling the purpose, goals and results.
Eligible projects should have occurred between Oct. 1, 1993 and Aug. 1, 1994. For more information call the council at 345-5523.
