The YWCA Salem Center will be offering before-school day care in addition to its after-school program.
This state-licensed program serves both girls and boys, ages 51/2 to 12 in grades kindergarten through 6, Monday through Friday.
Transportation will be provided to and from the following elementary schools: G. W. Carver, Salem, South Salem and West Salem. Full-day programs will also be provided on most of Salem's school holidays and closings.
To enroll, participants must become members of the YWCA and pay the program fees. Discounts are given for additional children enrolling from the same family.

Salem Museum seeks items for exhibit
The Salem Museum is seeking artwork, photographs and personal items of Walter Biggs, local painter and illustrator.
The items will be on display from mid-October through December. All items will be insured during the loan period.
