NEW BUILDING FOR CCS DATA STATION

CCS Data Station, a Christiansburg computer firm, broke ground Thursday for a new building in the Christiansburg Industrial Park.

The 13-year-old, 16-employee company is currently located on West Main Street in Christiansburg. The new 6,000-square-foot facility will have 2,000 more square feet of space than the current building..

Priscilla Fleshman, who along with Larry Maccherone owns CCS, said the company needs increased office and warehouse space and a loading dock. It just hired two new employees, and conditions are cramped to the point that, "right now, they're sort of falling on top of each other," she said.

Construction on the new facility is to be completed in early 1995, about the same time the company hopes to achieved ISO-9000 certification.
