RAPE OF TEEN-AGER ALLEGED

Bedford County sheriff's deputies arrested a Goode man Tuesday and charged him in the rape and forcible sodomy of a Bedford County girl.

Carl Franklin White, 22, also was served with a search warrant requiring him to give deputies samples of his hair and blood. He was released on bond the same day.

Sheriff Carl Wells said White was acquainted with a friend of the girl's, but the girl didn't know White personally. Wells would not elaborate.

The sheriff's office was not certain of the girl's age, but described her as 13 or 14.

A preliminary hearing date for White will be set on Oct. 5 in Bedford County General District Court.
