JAMES RIVER MANHANDLES GALAX 34-7

Sophomore quarterback Travis Blankenship ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third, and classmate Brian LeFlore added a 57-yard touchdown run as James River rolled to a 34-7 victory over Galax in a non-district football game Friday night.

Blankenship's first scoring run from three yards out gave the Knights a 6-0 lead.

After the Maroon Tide went ahead 7-6, Blankenship passed for a touchdown and rushed for another in the second quarter to give James River the lead for good.

James River is 1-2; Galax 0-3.
