The Smith Mountain Arts Council will hold its fifth Annual Art Show Oct. 16-20 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Virginia 122, Moneta. The show is open to local artists from Franklin, Bedford, Pittsylvania, Campbell and Roanoke Counties and Lynchburg, Roanoke and Martinsville.

The Renaissance Music Academy of Virginia in Blacksburg has added flute instruction to its programs. The nonprofit Academy also offers lessons in piano, cello and violin for serious, committed students.
