Martha Ann Stallings' fifth-grade class at Kipps Elementary School in Blacksburg offered the following tips on the best way to handle homework:

"I usually have a healthy snack before I start my homework." - Heather Beneski

"I do my homework for 30 minutes, take a break and then finish." - Babak Mostaghini

"We cannot do our homework in front of the TV.'' - Ashley Cavell

"I have a quiet place to do my homework and I try not to rush it." - Emily Saunders

"As soon as I get home, I have to do my homework." - J.C. Price

"My little sister cannot come into my room when I'm doing my homework." - Greg Luttrell

"I take short breaks in between my different subject areas." - Nathan Keen

"I have to study in a quiet place so I don't get distracted." - Alyssa Galinaitis

"My older brother cannot help me with my homework. My mom helps me when needed." - Michael Jones

"I have to do my homework as soon as I get home. The TV cannot come on until my brother and I have all our work done." - Heather Shepherd

"After I finish my homework, I like to play games." -Ian Frame

"When I'm doing my homework, I give my little sister some work to do." - Christy Koelling
