Erica Brandon hit two free throws in the closing seconds to give Martinsville a 43-41 victory over William Byrd on Monday night in a non-district game.

The Terriers tied the score at 41 with 9.8 seconds to go on a 3-point shot by Cathy Smith, but Byrd (5-3) then fouled Brandon, who hit both free throws to finish with 12 points for the Bulldogs (7-1).

Marilyn Huang scored 17 points and went 9-for-9 from the free throw line as the Spartans (5-2) defeated the visiting Lancers (1-7).
