TAKE NOTE

THE COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH INVESTMENT PROJECT OF NEW RIVER VALLEY has received a Family Resource and Support Grant of $120,000 per year for the next three years to expand its services into Pulaski County and Radford City and serve additional families in Giles and Montgomery Counties. CHIP staff, physicians and dentists provide acute and routine care on a consistent basis.

CHIP serves low-income children through age 6 and their families to improve the health and social well-being. Current enrollment includes 43 families with 90 children and 17 older siblings. Enrollment is open to children who receive Medicaid, are Medicaid eligible or lack any medical insurance.

CHIP was established in the New River Valley in September, 1993, as a public-private partnership among New River Community Action Inc., the New River Health District and private medical and dental providers. All services are free.
