Lynetta Johnson added 19 points for the Bengals (6-2 overall, 6-1 in the district).
Bassett took a 28-20 halftime lead as Martinsville (7-2, 6-1) made only 24 percent of its field-goal attempts. The Bulldogs outscored the Bengals 45-41 in the second half, but couldn't make up for the first-half deficit.
Trecita Holland, Sam Ferguson and Erica Brandon each scored 16 points for Martinsville.

MARTINSVILLE - Kim Rich scored two of her game-high 24 points on free throws with seven seconds left to help the Trojans edge the Lancers in the Piedmont District.
After Rich hit the decisive free throws, Laurel Park (1-8, 1-6) threw away the inbounds pass and Tunstall hit a clinching basket.
Melissa Dixon added 21 points for the Trojans.
Isis Paddyfote scored 16 points to lead the Lancers, who were doomed by 12-of-37 free-throw shooting.

RINER - Michelle Collins scored 14 points to lead the Eagles to a victory over the Pioneers in a non-district game.
Julie Bower added 12 points for Auburn (5-3)
Beth Freeman led Fort Chiswell with 11 points.

SHAWSVILLE - Robin Burdette scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Shawnees blasted the Rockets (0-8) in a non-district matchup.
Brandy Alexander added 13 points and eight steals for Shawsville (5-3), and Beth Burdette scored 11 points.

BUCHANAN - Lindsey Coleman scored 13 of her game-high 17 points in the first half to pace the Fighting Blues to the Pioneer District victory.
Parry McCluer (7-1, 2-1) scored only 11 points in the second half, but the Blues held the Knights to 10 points in the final two quarters.

The Highlanders used pressure defense to dismantle the Rockets in a Pioneer District game.
Glenvar (8-1, 3-0) led 41-16 at halftime. Marilea Hale finished with 19 points and Toree Morris had 18 for the Highlanders.
Craig County (2-6, 2-1) got 10 points and seven rebounds from Chrissy Robertson.

Parry McCluer 49, Alleghany 48: In Covington, Crystal Humphries and Shannon Huffman each scored 16 points as the Fighting Blues edged the Mountaineers in a non-district matchup.
Salem 65, Laurel Park 44: Marilyn Huang scored 17 points and went 9-for-9 from the free-throw line as the Spartans defeated the visiting Lancers in a non-district game.
