TECH LOSES MCMAHON

McMahon, of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., sprained his left foot during practice Tuesday, and the foot was placed in a cast Wednesday. He may be out of action for two to three weeks, a team doctor said.

Junior Jared Hamelin of Blacksburg will take McMahon's place in the starting lineup, with freshman Dwight Vick of Hampton moving to No.2 on the depth chart.

Tailback Dwayne Thomas remains doubtful for Saturday's game after spraining his left ankle in the 34-6 victory over West Virginia on Sept.22.
