OBIT BORCHELT, STELLA LOUISE
BORCHELT, Stella Louise, 84, of Blacksburg, died Friday, December 31, 1993,
at Heritage Hall Health Care Center. Miss Borchelt was born in Charleston,
Illinois, March 24, 1909, a daughter of the late William H. and Fannie Cundy
Borchelt. She grew up in Riverside, Illinois, attended Radcliff University,
was a graduate of the University of Chicago and received a library degree from
the University of Illinois School of Librarian. She was a professional
librarian with the Evanston Illinois Public Library for forty years. She was
active for many years in A.A.U.W. and the National Audobon Society, and was a
member of Christ Episcopal Church, Blacksburg, Virginia. Her brother, Walter
Cundy Borchelt, preceded her in death. Surviving are her brother and
sister-in-law, Charles Thomas and Carol Poole Borchelt, Blacksburg; 9 nieces
and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews; several great-great-nieces and
nephews. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church at a later
date, when family members from other parts of the country can be present.
Interment of the cremains will take place in Illinois at a later date. In lieu
of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Christ
Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 164, Blacksburg, Va. 24063. Arrangements are by
McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
