ROSE'S EXECUTIVES SEEK COURT'S APPROVAL OF SEVERANCE PACTS

Executives of Rose's Stores Inc. have made it one of their priorities to get serverance agreements worth more than $4 million, an action that one analyst says is unusual for the company that has sought bankruptcy protection.

"It sounds like they might be placing themselves before the company," said Kenneth Gassman Jr., a retail analyst with Davenport & Co. in Richmond.
