Green Bay wide receiver Sterling Sharpe set an NFL single-season record for receptions during Detroit's 30-20 victory. Sharpe's six catches brought his total to 112, surpassing his own record of 108 of last season. The six-year pro became the 36th player in league history to reach the 500-reception level. He has 501.

Ex-UVa star Terry Kirby caught three passes for the Dolphins, moving into third place on the NFL's rookie receiving list with 75 catches this season. He also set a record for receptions in a season by a Dolphins running back.

Brian Blades set a Seattle record with his 80th reception, breaking the record of 79 set by Steve Largent in 1985.

Buffalo coach Marv Levy tied George Allen for 15th place on the NFL's career victory list, giving him a 118-86 mark over 12 seasons. The Bills finished with victories in their last four games for the first time since 1973.
