OBIT-HAIRFIELD, EDWARD M. JR., ("DOLL BABY")

HAIRFIELD, Edward M. Jr., ("Doll Baby"), 64, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, January 1, 1994, at his home. He was the son of the late Edward M. Sr. and Mamie Richards Hairfield. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura Lee Hairfield and a sister, Hazel O'Brian. He was a member of the Grandin Court Baptist Church; and retired from the N & W after 41 years of service, and was a self-employed plumber. Surviving are a son, Ed L. Hairfield, Roanoke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen H. and Jeff Deaton of Richmond, Lori H. and John Glovier of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Melissa Strausbaugh, Lauren Deaton, David Glovier. Funeral services will be at Oakey's South Chapel 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Charles A. Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South Chapel.
