WHITWORTH, Izonia C., 93, of Roanoke, died Saturday, January 1, 1994. She
retired as a head cashier at the freight station for the N & W Railway. Mrs.
Whitworth was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church. She was also a
member of Electa Chapter O.E.S. for over fifty years. She was the widow of
Charlie A. Whitworth. Surviving are nieces, Geneva Pugh Peyton, Roanoke,
Henrietta C. Candler, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; nephews, Charlie B. Pugh, Poquson,
Va., James C. Pugh Jr., Front Royal, George M. Pugh, Huntsville, Ala, Franklin
R. Pugh, Dr. Robert Lewis Pugh, both of Roanoke; a number of great-nieces and
great-nephews; sister-in-law, Kathryn Carr, Peterstown, W. Va. Services will
be conducted 3 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel by Dr. Daniel E. Scott.
Entombment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive
friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South Chapel.
