POOLE, Carrie M., ("Liz")75, of Rt. 1, Rural Retreat (The Cedar Springs Community), died early Sunday, January 2, 1994, in the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. She is survived by her husband, James Kermit Poole; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby P. and Jerry Gibson, Radford, Mary P. and Jack Widner, Rural Retreat, Joan P. and Richard O'Dell, Christiansburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Byron and Sandy Poole, Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Catherine Moon, Trenton, N.J., Bert Webb and Ruth Peake, both of Marion; one brother, Ed Mathena, Marion; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 1994, from the Lindsey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Hoyle officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Rural Retreat. The family sincerely requests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Rural Retreat Emergency Services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home or at the residence at anytime. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, is in charge of arrangements.
