OBIT-EDWARDS, EDGAR O., ("ED")
EDWARDS, Edgar O., ("Ed"), 72, of Roanoke, died Sunday, January 2, 1994, at
his home. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church and was retired from the
Norfolk & Western Railroad. Mr. Edwards was an Army veteran of World War II,
having served in North Africa and Italy, and was a member of the American
Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his wife, Pauline B.
("Polly") Edwards, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Speedy Yopp,
Roanoke; two brothers, Carl W. Edwards, and Eddie L. Edwards Jr., both of
Roanoke; four sisters, Frances Ferguson, Margaret Willis, both of Roanoke,
Ruby Firebaugh, Maryland, Ellene Strain, Texas; three grandsons, David, Chris
and Jason Yopp. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 1
p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. John P. Dunstan and Dr. Ronald Smith. Burial will
be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family suggests memorials be made to
Bethany Christian Church. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
