OBIT-JOHNSON, RUSSELL GILBERT

JOHNSON, Russell Gilbert, 79, of Huddleston, passed away Monday, January 3, 1994, in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 3, 1914, in Bedford County, a son of the late, William Robert Johnson and Ardella Florence Wilkerson Johnson. He was a retired employee of Singer Furniture Company and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Bevy Morgan Johnson; two sisters, Vera J. Nichols, Roanoke, Letha J. Dellis, Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 5, 1994, 2 p.m., from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston, by the Rev. Christopher Fowler. Interment will follow in the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Huddleston.
