Craft's Crew - formerly Clark's Crew - still hasn't lost a game in the Town of Pulaski Men's Basketball League.
The 1992 and 1993 league champion is 4-0 this season. It last lost in the finals of the 1991 tournament - 35 games ago.
The streak is just one short of the league record for consecutive victories. Rockwell rolled off 36 straight wins in 1985 and 1986.
The Crew can tie the record with a win over Bad Boys (2-3) and establish the record by beating Renfro (4-1) Sunday.
So far, Craft's Crew has defeated Pepsi Cola, 100-54; Pulaski Community Hospital, 90-59; L.R. Davis, 88-55; and C&L Campers, 114-77.
Balanced scoring as been the secret for the Crew. It has had at least two players score 20 or more points in each of its four wins.
\ BOBBY HUNTER led Craft's Crew with 25 against Pepsi Cola and 27 against Pulaski Community Hospital. SAMMY POINDEXTER had a team-high 27 points against L.R. Davis and against C&L Campers.
\ DAVID SMITH, DOREA JONES and CHARLES ARNOLD have also topped the 20-point plateau in games for Craft's Crew this season.
Poindexter leads the team in scoring with 23.5 points per game, fourth in the league.
Poindexter, Arnold and JEROME BROWN give Craft's Crew three players with college experience - all played at Bluefield College.
But despite the good start and the unbeaten record, Craft's Crew is only tied for second place.
Stevens Funeral Home leads the league with a 5-0 record. RANDY OLVERSON, the league's second-leading scorer, leads Stevens with 26.2 ppg.
Tied for second with the Crew at 4-0 is Athletes Choice. WALTER BROOKS leads AC with 23.2 ppg, fifth in the league.
The league's leading scorer is MARK QUESENBERRY of C&L Campers. He averages 27.8 ppg.
Other top scorers are MIKE SAMPSON of Pulaski Community Hospital, third with 25.3 ppg, and ANTHONY AKERS of Slam Dunk Cards, sixth with 23.0 ppg.
