OBIT SHOEMAKER, VERA E. OVERBY

SHOEMAKER, Vera E. Overby, 88, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, January 4, 1994. She was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Clarence T. Shoemaker; three daughters, Rita S. Parr Everhart, Chester, Va., Joan L. Philpott, Taylorsville, Ky., Barbara S. Adams, Virginia Beach; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, noon Thursday, January 6, with Dr. Dan Scott and the Rev. Edward Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
