Unbeaten Cave Spring loosened a close game with a third-quarter run en route to a Roanoke Valley District victory over Franklin County.
The Knights began the third quarter with a 6-0 spurt, opening a 24-17 lead. Allison Beightol had four points in the run and seven of her 11 in the third quarter, which ended with Cave Spring (11-0 overall, 3-0 in the district) on top 34-28.
Aimee Beightol led the Knights with 17 points and Leah Daigle added 11. For Franklin County (2-4, 0-3), Patricia Campbell had 16.
