PACKWOOD ADMITS ADVANCES TO EMPLOYEE

Sen. Bob Packwood acknowledged Wednesday that he made sexual advances toward a campaign worker, but he claimed it was part of a "warm relationship" and blasted the media for unfair reporting.

Packwood said reporters failed to question claims by former campaign worker Gena Hutton that she was traumatized when Packwood grabbed her and kissed her in 1980.

Hutton has also said Packwood asked her to go to bed with him. Asked if that was true, Packwood replied: "As I recall, yes. I'll accept her word for that. I'm not going to contest what she said."

More than two dozen women have accused Packwood of making unwanted sexual advances. - Associated Press
