OBIT VANDERGRIFT, VIRGINIA P. BOWE

VANDERGRIFT, Virginia P. Bowe, ("Gen"), 71, of 515 Mountain Ave., S.W., Roanoke, died in a Salem hospital, Tuesday, January 4, 1994. She was a member of the ILGWA and was preceded in death by a grandson, William John Bowe. Surviving are daughters, Annie Bowe Leftwich, Peggy Bowe Overton; a son, John J. Bowe, all of Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Earline and James Jordan; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Ruth Puffenbarger, all of Roanoke; also 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, noon Friday, January 7, 1994, with the Rev. Larry E. Sprouse officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
