OBIT GRIGGS, GOLDIE

GRIGGS, Goldie, 83, a longtime resident of Roanoke County, died Thursday, January 6, 1994. She was the wife of the late J. W. Griggs. Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, George Henry Griggs, Roanoke, Roy Lee and Nancy Griggs, Independence, John Paul Griggs, Kingsport, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Lola and Jimmy Schaaff, Roanoke; a brother, Walter Robbins, Roanoke; sisters, Gladys Bryant, Salem, Beatrice Robertson, New Castle, Dorothy Belcher and Jean Mays, both of Roanoke; grandchildren, Alice Wood, Wes, Bobby, Lew, Andrew, and Tom Schaaff, Jay, Julie, Tammy, and Glen Griggs. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
