OBIT ELLER, FANNIE FLORA BOWMAN

ELLER, Fannie Flora Bowman, 94, of Bridgewater, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 1994, from complications following a fractured hip. She was a native of Franklin County and was a daughter of the late James Owen and Emily Susan Flora. She married Stover D. Bowman of Franklin County and they moved to Roanoke. There they made a home and raised their family. After Mr. Bowman's retirement, the couple returned to Franklin County and lived there until his death in 1979. A few years later, she moved to Bridgewater, where she married the Rev. Henry C. Eller in 1985. She had been an active member of the Church of the Brethren and primarily the Central Church of the Brethren of Roanoke and Bethlehem Church of the Brethren in Franklin County. Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Henry C. Eller of Bridgewater, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma B. and the Rev. R. Russell Bixler, Pittsburg, Pa., Mary Sue B. and Gene A. Smith, Virginia Beach, Va., Janet B. and C. Ray Canady, Branson, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law, Charles D. and Nona B. Bowman, Los Alamos, N.M.; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ada F. Saul, Salem, Va., Melva Boone, Allentown, Pa. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 1994, at Bethlehem Church of the Brethren in Franklin County. Officiating will be Pastor Willard Bowman and Pastor Keith W. Simmons. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Church Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 1994 at the Memorial Chapel of Bridgewater Home in Bridgewater, Va., with the Rev. Evelyn L. Shenk and Rev. Robert E. Alley officiating.
