OBIT KING, DOROTHEA DEWITT
KING, Dorothea DeWitt, 66, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, January 6, 1994,
at Lewis-Gale Hospital. She was born August 23, 1927, in Burlington, Iowa, the
daughter of the late Wilbur and Jessie McMillan DeWitt. She was a retired
teacher in the Buena Vista Public School System and a member of Buena Vista
Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ernest L. King Jr., Buena
Vista; three daughters, Rebecca Yeckley, Colton, Calif., Mary McGlothlin,
Abingdon, Elizabeth Baird, Staunton; four sons, Joseph C. King, Richland,
Wash., Andrew D. King, Dawsonville, Ga., James R. King and Stephen G. King,
both of Buena Vista; one sister, Elizabeth Wittmer, Salem, Oregon; one
brother, George A. DeWitt, Ducktown, Tenn.; ten grandchildren. A graveside
service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, at Green Hill Cemetery and a
memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Buena Vista Baptist Church with the
Rev. Dr. Chip Pendleton officiating. Donations may be made to the Gideons for
purchase of Memorial Bibles, in memory of Dorothea. Lomax Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
