OBIT ROSS, MATTHEW JAMES

ROSS, Matthew James, 55, of White Plains, N.Y., formerly of Callaway, passed away Friday, December 31, 1993. Survivors include his wife, Sherlene Ross, Roanoke; five daughters, Marie and Linda Ross, Yvonne and Bernice Leftwich, Troy Eustache, all of Roanoke; five sons, Matthew and Wayne Ross, Danny Ferguson, all of Roanoke, Allen and Matthew See, both of White Plains, N.Y.; one sister and brother-in-law, Romena and Thurston Ford, Roanoke; five brothers and sister-in-law, Marshall and Cletis Ross, both of Rocky Mount, Wendell ("Hilda") Smith, Moneta, Thomas Smith, Franklin County, Luther Smith, Texas; a host of grandchildren; nieces and nephews; three uncles; six aunts; devoted friends, Allen Cooper, Dan and Shirley Smith, George Coulter. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Elder Shadrach Brown officiating, with burial in Carolina Springs Cemetery, Franklin County. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
