GARRISON KEILLOR IS COMING TO ROANOKE

Garrison Keillor and ``A Prairie Home Companion'' will come to the Roanoke Civic Center Auditorium for shows Feb. 8 and 9 at 8 p.m.

Keillor is the creator of the award-winning public radio show and is the best-selling author of ``Lake Wobegon Days'' and other books. His most recent work is ``The Book of Guys.''

The shows will be the first in a brief tour of the southeastern United States, said Steve Mills, manager of WVTF-FM in Roanoke, which airs Keillor's programs on Saturday nights and rebroadcasts them on Sunday afternoons.

The Roanoke programs will be taped for national broadcast at a later date.

Guests will include Robin and Linda Williams and their band. Keillor's troupe, including sound-effects man Tom Keith and Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, also will perform.

Tickets to each show are $24 and $21. They go on sale today for public radio contributors and to the general public on Monday. They are available at the Roanoke Civic Center box office and at Ticketmaster locations.
