MEETINGS TO ADDRESS ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT

The New River Valley Planning District Commission has scheduled a third round of community meetings to discuss its economic adjustment strategy.

The strategy is part of the planning district's efforts to offset layoffs at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant caused by cuts in defense spendings.

Goals and ideas for the area will be presented at the five meetings that will be held at different location around the valley.

Here's the schedule: Jan. 12, New River Valley Mall community room; Jan. 13, Pulaski County Court House; Jan. 18, Bank of Floyd; Jan. 19, New River Valley Planning District Commission in Radford; Jan 20, Pearisburg Town Hall.

All meetings begin at 7 p.m.
