SALEM MAN FACES MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE FOR WRECK

A Salem man who drove a pickup truck involved in a fatal wreck in November was indicted Friday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Gerald David Schuder Jr., 37, was named in the indictment handed up by a Roanoke County grand jury.

On Nov. 10, Schuder and two passengers were westbound on Harborwood Road at 12:35 a.m., when the pickup veered off the road and struck a tree, according to a state police report.

One of the passengers - Braxton Stinchfield, 22, of Richmond - died later at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
