CLARKE, Kathleen Mary, ("Nan"), 85, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, January 6, 1994. She was born March 27, 1909, in Farnham, Surrey, England, and made her home with the John S. Baldwin family, now of Houston, Texas, as governess and nanny since shortly after she came to America in 1954. In 1990, she moved to Roanoke to be with her family here. Her survivors include the Baldwins, John and Marguerite, and their children, David Clarke Baldwin, Houston, Texas, Robert T. Baldwin, M.D., Scottsdale, Ariz., Elizabeth F. Baldwin, Thousand Oaks, Calif., Mark E. Baldwin, Houston, Texas, Ann M. DeOms, Glen Arm, Md., John S. Baldwin, Needham, Mass.; sisters, Mabel A. Rice, Roanoke and Edith Swatton, Haslemere, Surrey, England; brother, Eric W. Clarke and wife, Connie, London, England; sister-in-law, Evelyn Clarke, Crawley, England; nephews, Clive E. Rice and wife, Betty Ann, Roanoke, Eric F. Swatton and wife, Linda, Crawley, England, Alan J. Swatton, Haslemere, Surrey, England, Harry Clarke and wife, Ros, Chichester, England; nieces, Rosemary Allsop and husband, Len, Concord, N.H., Linda Horlock and husband, Andrew, Haslemere, Surrey, England, Barbara Yetman, Crawley, England; 7 grandnephews and 5 grandnieces. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 10, 1994, at Oakey's North Chapel, by Bishop William deJ. Rutherfoord. A memorial service and burial will be in Haslemere, Surrey, England at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to her church building fund: St. Thomas of Canterbury, c/o Bishop William deJ. Rutherfoord, 5640 Lee Lane, Fincastle, Va. 24090. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel.
