OBIT DRAPER, ELGA

DRAPER, Elga, 86, of the Mount Pleasant Community, died Friday, January 7, 1994. Mr. Draper was a long time member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and was retired from the V.A. Medical Center, with 25 years service. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Lura Guthrie Draper; his sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Libby Draper, Donald and Sue Draper, all of Roanoke County; Douglas and Kathy Draper, New Haven, W.Va.; a sister, Ruth Overfelt, Boones Mill; six grandchildren, Dana Johnson, Lee, David, Karen and Steven Draper; and Kristi Gross, Kathy Spradlin; two great-grandsons, Joshua Lee and Cody Lee Draper. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel Monday, January 10, 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry L. Cloninger Jr. and the Rev. R. Bruce Griffith Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
