OBIT THORNTON, ROBERT J.
THORNTON, Robert J., 83, of Christiansburg, died Friday, January 7, 1994,
in a Roanoke hospital. He was retired from the Montgomery County Sheriff's
Department and was a member of McDaniel Lodge #86 A.F. & A.M. Surviving are
his wife, Mary D. Thornton; a daughter, Helen T. Cox, Princeton, W.Va.; one
son, Donald W. Thornton, Gibsenburg, Ohio; six grandchildren; ten
great-grandchildren, and a dear niece and nephew, Paulette and J.D. Lambert of
Christiansburg. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday from the Richardson-Horne
Chapel conducted by Mr. J.R. Bishop with burial in Sunset Cemetery. Friends
may call Sunday morning and afternoon at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon only at the
funeral home.
