OBIT PARKS, JOHN WASHINGTON

PARKS, John Washington, 80, of Wytheville, died Thursday, January 6, 1994 at the Birdmont Health Care Center. He was a member of the Baptist Union Church in Grayson County and was preceded in death by his wife Sena Rose Hash Parks. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Beulah & Harold Minor of Dickson, Tenn.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Doris Parks of Atkins, Curtis and Eleanor Parks of Rural Retreat, Ralph and Kitty Parks of Dublin, Joe and Pat Parks of Rural Retreat; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
